  AOL Inc. stands for America Online, it is located in New York City. It was founded in   1983. It is an American web portal and online service provider-based company. 

  Initially, AOL purchased a search engine called Web-Crawler in 1995, But next year it sold to Excite. This deal made Excite the sole search and directory service on AOL. 

 After that, AOL was launching its own search engine, which is based on Excite, it’s called NetFind. Later on, it’s called AOL Search in 1999. 

 AOL gives us access to web, shopping, multimedia, images search results followed by   Google. 

 

    2)     DuckDuckGo à  

DuckDuckGo owned by Gabriel Weinberg in the year 2008 in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.

DuckDuckGo has an topmost ranking in search engines, that focus on privacy and also avoiding the filter bubble that related to personalized search results.

The company name based on children’s game DuckDuckGoose.

It does not keep any information of a user and it gives value to privacy.

It show results to 30 million searchers on daily basis.

Yandex is a search engine, it is the largest search engine in Russia, It generated 52% of the market from the search traffic over the internet. 

Yandex is registered in the Netherlands but most team members are located in Russia. 

It is providing over 70 internet products according to LiveInternet.

CC Search stands for Creative Common. It is established in 2001 by Lawrence Lessig.  

CC Search engine is the perfect search engine for the content creators like images, videos that all are free from copyright issues.

Gibiru claims that they are using the modified algorithm of Googe. That enables users to search without tracking.

This means it does not use cookies to track your information on the internet, they claim that they provide faster output.

Wolfram Alpha is created by Wolfram Alpha LLC, it is a computational knowledge engine it produces answer after computation.

It can provide various complex calculations for us, like interest, loan amount on the behalf of information.

It is very oldest search engine on the web. It provides services as a metasearch engine.

It is the first web search engine that providing full-text search.

 Dogpile is behave like metasearch engine over the internet, it is originated by Aaron Flin in the year 1996.

 It fetches answers from Google, Bing, Yahoo. Etc,.

Startpage was found in 1998, owned by Startpage BV, it is located in the Netherlands.

Startpage search is based on dutch search engine that focuses on privacy.

Excite is a metasearch engine, it was introducing in 1995, introduced by Joe Kraus in The United States.

It is a net service provider like email, news, videos, images.

It is a web portal that originated in 1995. That includes various form of content like new and whether.

Info is a metasearch engine, that was introduced in 2013, it fetches data from other search engines like Bing, Ask, Google.

Info got 7566 position in Alexa – ranking.

Ecosia is a search engine, that was introduced in 2009, founded by Christian Kroll in Germany. Ecosia donates 80% of its worth to non-profit organizations that focus on reforestation.

It gives transparency and privacy of information. It is also B lab certified.
